Geocells
Get Started

Geocells are three-dimensional cellular panels that ship flat, expand on site into a honeycomb structure, and are filled with soil, sand, aggregate or concrete. Confining the fill within cell walls stops it from spreading laterally under load. Material that would otherwise rut and displace instead behaves as a stiff, load-bearing mat, which means marginal or locally available fill can often do the work of imported crushed stone.
That substitution is usually the reason a project chooses them: fewer truckloads of aggregate, a thinner overall section and faster construction, particularly on remote sites where hauling stone is the dominant cost. Applications include access roads and haul routes over soft ground, load support beneath pads and tanks, slope and channel protection where the cells hold infill on a gradient, retaining structures, and green surfaces such as fire lanes and overflow parking that need to carry vehicles while staying vegetated.
